In the calcination process, copper oxide and chromium oxide green diffuse each other to form a substance with spinel crystal structure. The FULLN CHEMICAL Enamel Pigments Black pigment FU-E693 product may contain a small amount of additives like nickel oxide, manganese dioxide and molybdenum trioxide.

It has the crystal structure of spinel, which makes the pigment show excellent thermal stability.
