Zn-Cr-Fe is a high-temperature inorganic ceramic printing pigment based on zinc-chromium-iron composite spinel crystal structure. Through the synergistic coloration of Cr³⁺ and Fe³⁺ ions in the spinel lattice, it produces stable brown, deep brown to dark brown tones under oxidation atmosphere. Specially designed for both ceramic roller printing and screen printing processes, this product combines excellent roller transfer properties with screen permeability. It is widely used for surface pattern printing on ceramic tiles, sintered stone, and roofing tiles.

 

Cr³⁺ and Fe³⁺ ions jointly occupy octahedral coordination positions in the spinel structure, forming (Zn,Fe)(Cr,Fe)₂O₄-type composite solid solutions. The d-d electron transitions and inter-ionic charge transfer effects of both ions generate broad absorption band brown spectra. Zn²⁺ serves as a tetrahedral site stabilizer in the lattice, effectively regulating crystal field strength to ensure subdued and full color after high-temperature firing, while enhancing compatibility with printing media.
