Glass color powder

Glass color powder is a transparent enamel or ceramic glaze used for decoration on pottery or metal surfaces. The glaze produces a hard, durable, smooth, shiny surface in a furnace or kiln. Also refers to an object decorated in this way. The opaque enamel and its properties on metals distinguish it from other glazes used in ceramics.

Enamel processes include CLOISONN, CHAMPLEV, BASSETAILLE and plique-Jour. These elaborate techniques are suitable for jewellery and artefacts (objets d 'Art); As for ceramic glazes applied to metal plates, they are only called enamels. True enamel is inorganic and fired at temperatures above 1500E. 2. A liquid coating that, when dried, produces a hard, shiny surface, like brittle transparent enamel. The glaze solution is a kind of resin coating. Enamels include two types of air-dried enamel and baking enamels. When baked in a kiln at 250 to 450E, the baking enamel becomes hard and durable. 3. A translucent glaze made of powdered glass and used as a coloring agent to paint glass.
